Dear private GP colleagues,

I am sending a gentle reminder regarding the SOP in relation to Community Care X-Rays Pathway. It is very important that if, as private GPs, you order an Xray for a patient in a care home, the nursing manager in that particular care home needs to communicate with the radiographers in the respective health centres according to the pathway outlined above.  There are special conditions where an Xray can only be taken at SVPR (refer to pathway) – kindly take note accordingly, since it appears that in several instances, such procedures are still not being followed.
