The Malta College of Family Doctors, as member of WONCA https://www.globalfamilydoctor.com/ Europe section, is also a member of the Vasco da Gama Movement (VdGM) https://vdgm.woncaeurope.org/. The latter offers opportunities for international events, exchanges, awards, special interest groups, research, leadership, policy-making and collaboration aimed at family doctors in training as well as newly qualified family doctors within five years of specialization.
The MCFD is represented at the annual pre-conference Council meetings organised by VdGM by the appointed national council member or their delegate/proxy (https://mcfd.org.mt/about-mcfd/the-council).
A lot of work, time and effort was undertaken by various active members of the MCFD in the past years to make it possible for young doctors coming after them to be able to benefit from the VdGM experience and a lot of yearly background work is needed to maintain membership of WONCA and VdGM. So, grab the chance!
