(The) Malta College of Family Doctors, VO/0973, is a not-for-profit organisation registered within the Malta Office of the Commissioner for Voluntary Organisations (VO).
WONCA Europe
It is a member organisation of WONCA Europe – the European regional branch of the World Organization of National Colleges, Academies and Academic Associations of General Practitioners/Family Physicians. WONCA Europe is the academic and scientific society for general practice/family medicine in Europe.
EURACT WONCA
EURACT, the European Academy of Teachers in General Practice/Family Medicine is another WONCA entity. Members of the College involve themselves and participate in their conferences and most notably Leonardo Teachers’ Courses. The Teachers’ Course is a requirement in Malta for a Family Doctor to be a trainer of a medical specialist trainee in Family Medicine.
Royal College of General Practitioners
The Specialty Training Programme is accredited by the Royal College of General Practitioners – doctors passing the Programme requirements are also awarded the International Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP`{`Int`}`).
Malta Primary Health Care Department
This is part of a tripartite agreeement which also includes the Malta Primary Health Care Department within the Ministry for Health which runs the programme though the Postgraduate Training Coordinators in Family Medicine.
Medical Association of Malta - MAM
The Malta College of Family Doctors collaborates and liaises with the Medical Association of Malta in order to improve doctors’ professional development and patient care.
