WONCA EXECUTIVE MEETING: WHO Primary Care Lead John Fogarty joined WONCA’s Executive Committee meeting in London, marking a significant step in deepening the collaboration between WHO and WONCA. The meeting featured presentations from each regional president, with a focus on advancing workforce development and patient safety. Discussions emphasised aligning efforts to strengthen primary care and accelerate progress toward Universal Health Coverage globally. Read the report.

WHO SOUTH EAST ASIA REGION MEETING: Adolescents are often left behind in healthcare discussions, yet they represent the future of our region.” In her reflections on the 77th World Health Organization South-East Asia Region (WHO SEARO) Meeting, Dr. Roshni Jhan Ganguly, who represented WONCA, highlights the importance of addressing adolescent health and mental health challenges across South-East Asia. PALESTINIAN FAMILY DOCTORS NEED OUR HELP: The An-Najah Family Medicine Clinic in Nablus, West Bank urgently needs our support. Dr. Suha Hamshari, who was honoured with the WONCA Global Five Star Doctor award last year, has asked the WONCA community for donations to expand their services and meet the growing healthcare demands of patients who have lost access to care. MENTAL HEALTH – A PRIORITY IN PRIMARY CARE: On 29 September, the Young Doctors’ Movement (YDM) and the WONCA Working Party on Mental Health held a webinar which brought together experts from Saudi Arabia, Australia, Türkiye, Mexico and Peru, looking at this crucial area of health through a family medicine perspective.
