FROM THE PRESIDENT: WONCA President Karen Flegg shares highlights from World Family Doctor Day 2024. This year’s theme, “Healthy Planet, Healthy People,” wasn’t just another catchy slogan. It was a full-blown campaign that had family doctors around the globe trading stethoscopes for tree saplings and medical charts for climate action plans. Global events included tree planting and social media campaigns, showcasing family doctors as champions of both human and planetary health. Read more.
INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE: WONCA Special Interest Group on Family Violence held session on recognising signs, identifying at-risk patients, and developing strategies to address intimate partner violence effectively. Assoc Prof Jennifer Neil (Australia) hosted a panel of experts including Prof Dr. Sajaratulnisah Othman (Malaysia) Dr. Abimbola Silva (Nigeria), and Pn. Fatimang Ladola, (Malaysia).
