Dear WONCA family,
A warm welcome to all of our new subscribers who signed up at the WONCA conference in Sydney last year. Secondly, our apologies to those who had issues accessing our website last week. The problem has been resolved and we are back up! Here are the latest updates from WONCA.
DEADLINE EXTENDED: The Bridge Project, run by the European Young Family Doctors Movement (EYFDM), aims to connect young family doctors across the world to collaborate on a research or quality improvement project of their choice, and present the results at a WONCA conference. Apply by 15 March!
WEBINAR: Christine Sinsky MD from the American Medical Association is the speaker for the second webinar in our Human Factors Science series. Her topic will be Creating a Manageable Cockpit for Clinicians – Fixing the Workplace, not the Worker. Register on Zoom – Tuesday, 12 March 2024,15:00 UTC.
FIVE STAR DOCTOR AWARD: Nominations for the WONCA Regional Five Star Award 2024 are open until 1 April 2024. Discover the nomination process for this prestigious accolade on our website and read about the 2023 Global Five Star Doctor award recipient, Dr Suha Hamshari, Head of the Palestinian Association of Family Medicine.
PODCAST: The Ubuntu 2024 official podcast is now available on YouTubeApple Podcasts, and Spotify. It’s a fantastic listen for anyone interested in the area of rural practice. Ubuntu 2024 is a joint conference between The Network: Towards Unity for Health (TUFH) and Rural WONCA taking place in Cape Town, South Africa, 10 – 13 September 2024. The deadline for early bird registration and abstract submission is 31 March. More information.
