Documentary ‘Il-Gerha tas-Solitudni’ 

The Faculty for Social Wellbeing has launched a documentary that tackles the stories of several people coming from different walks of life who are struggling with loneliness.

This documentary also includes the contribution of several academics who look into this problem which the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Andrew Azzopardi refers to as “the modern pandemic”.

This documentary follows another documentary on the same topic in 2018 and two national studies held in 2019 and replicated in 2022 which surfaced a problem of mega proportions with over 54% of the people interviewed over 11 years of age feeling lonely.

In Fact, the most affected demographic is between 11 and 19 years of age.
