Research entitled ‘Knowledge of autism amongst GPs and GP trainees and self-reported confidence in working with autistic patients’

Dear All,

We hope our email finds you well.

We are doctors presently conducting research entitled ‘Knowledge of autism amongst GPs and GP trainees and self-reported confidence in working with autistic patients’ being supervised by Prof Anton Grech. The aim of the study is to evaluate GP and GP trainees’ knowledge on autism and their confidence in working with autistic patients. This research is in conformity with the ethical standards set by the University of Malta Faculty of Medicine and Surgery Ethics Committee.

We hope that through the results obtained in this study we can identify any areas of knowledge as well as areas of concerns highlighted by GPs and GP trainees. We also wish to work collaboratively with General Practitioners on a lecture or informal talk involving Autistic patients in the future.

We would be grateful if you could pass on the following email and questionnaire linked below to your GP and GP trainee members. The questionnaire should take between 5 to 10 minutes to complete.

We welcome any comments or feedback.

We look forward to continue working collaboratively for the betterment of our patients and their healthcare.
