Dear Colleagues,

The Dutch College of General Practitioners (NHG) is this year’s host of the WONCA Europe Conference 2021.

Organizing a conference in these times is quite a challenge. Still, the Host Organizing Committee and the Scientific Committee are striving to present a state of the art virtual conference.

The theme of our conference is “Practising Person Centred Care”. We will elaborate on this theme in 5 cohesive sets of a plenary presentation, a round table session and a research masterclass, covering aspects of patient care, research, and education. These will be organized by WONCA Special Interest Groups and WONCA Networks. The cohesive sessions will be built around clinical topics linked to non-clinical topics such as cardiovascular risk management and shared decision making, respiratory diseases and diversity, or elderly care and prevention of overdiagnosis. The impact of COVID-19 on GP health and primary care services (eHealth) will also receive ample attention.

The committees aimed to create an interesting, inspiring and practical program for all general practitioners in Europe and beyond. Not only for general practitioners with strong scientific focus but explicitly also for GPs with other interests, for trainees and students. The program has interesting sessions for all. With the keynotes, followed by round table discussions and research master classes, the program allows participants to interact as much as possible.
