ePrescriptions Integration Within CARE

ePrescriptions Integration Within CARE

Text:

We wish to apprise you of significant enhancements scheduled within CARE on Monday, 29th January between 13:00-14:00 PM. These improvements are intended to optimize and streamline processes for all physicians and health officers.

To facilitate the submission of Schedule Vs and electronic prescriptions, a simple one-time update is necessary. Physicians are kindly requested to update and submit information within the Doctor Profile Module, encompassing their email address, mobile number, and electronic signature. The electronic signature can be conveniently drawn on the screen or uploaded digitally. Upon the successful completion of this one-time update, physicians may proceed to access CARE as per usual routine.

The ePrescriptions module, previously accessible via an independent portal, will be seamlessly incorporated into CARE. This integration aims to enhance operational efficiency by consolidating the ePrescription functionality within CARE, thereby eliminating the necessity for a separate tab. Upon the submission of a Schedule V, the system will automatically progress to the issuance of ePrescriptions, encompassing all medications, regimen, and dosage, including those items pending approval. Consequently, there will be no need to re-enter this information.

The physician’s task will be to review, set the prescription duration, and make any necessary amendments, which will automatically reflect on the previously submitted Schedule V application. Therefore, the issuance of prescriptions will be simplified, expedited, and the necessity for printing will be obviated, as pharmacies will have direct visibility of these prescriptions from CARE prior to dispensing.

Additionally, the Check for Interactions module will be accessible on the Dashboard screen, guiding physicians on potential drug-to-drug interactions, whereas the Watson AI Chatbot will be available in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, aiding during the submission process.

Enclosed herewith is the revised Doctors Manual, which can be accessed on CARE via (https://poyc.hss.gov.mt/poyc/CARE/) by hovering over the ‘HELP’ button within the system.

We strongly recommend the utilization of CARE for the submission of both Schedule V and electronic prescriptions. This exclusive approach enables the establishment of digital records for all patients, thereby fortifying our capability to deliver optimum health services. The implementation of digital records serves to streamline processes and enhance data accuracy, constituting a significant advancement in the provision of patient care.
