Saviour Cilia Award


The Malta College of Family Doctors established the Saviour Cilia award in 2010 on the initiative of Dr Jurgen Abela. Dr Saviour Cilia was a GP who worked incessantly to promote family medicine. He passed away on 2 June 2007.

The award is bestowed to the doctor who places first in order of merit at each diet of the exit examination for the specialist training programme in family medicine.

The award is kindly supported by Alfred Gera & Sons. Each winner is awarded a commemorative glass souvenir specifically designed for the college and also a monetary gift for 250 Euro.
